DDC reviews achievements under Agriculture, Horticulture Sectors in Rajouri

District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today reviewed the performance of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Horticulture here at a meeting of the concerned officers.

During the meeting, the DDC took a comprehensive review of the achievements recorded under different schemes being implemented by the twin departments.Asking for timely realization of the targets under different schemes, he asked the departments to ensure that the desired benefits reach to the last person in the queue.

Spreading mass awareness among the farmers about different schemes being implemented by the Department was also stressed upon. “There is a need to educate the farmers about the benefits of different schemes and motivate them to avail the benefits of the same,” he said.

The DDC also stressed on introducing high density fruit plantation and quality vegetable seeds to benefit the farmers.Status of Ultra High density plantation, olive plantation was also discussed in detail. The Chief Horticulture officer also informed about the status of plantation in different nurseries.

The DDC also reviewed the progress regarding the developmental deliverables and asked the officers to achieve the targets within set timelines.He also emphasized upon the concerned officers to conduct field visits to get real time feedback from the farmers.

The meeting was attended by the CPO, Mohammad Khurshid CAO, Sohan Singh; CHO, Madan Lal and other concerned officers.
