To redress the grievances of people at their doorstep, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today visited Block Palmar and conducted a series of public Outreach programmes in different Panchayats.

The DC listened to people’s issues at Lower Palmar C, Lower Palmar B and Upper Palmar of Block Palmar under the weekly block Diwas programme.He was accompanied by BDC chairperson Block Palmar Lalita Devi, DDC member Tahir Masood; ACD Kishtwar Atul Dutt Sharma, BDO Palmar Saima Ramzan ,NT Palmar besides local PRIs and district officers and officials of line departments.

During the Outreach programmes at several Panchayats, the  District Development Commissioner Kishtwar was apprised by local people and PRI members about their demands and grievances.

They demanded up-gradation of local infrastructure in the Health, Education sector besides extension of road connectivity, water and power facilities in the area.The people demanded for timely completion of Mower water tank, Mangnoo water tank, Bhedran Water tank and Hari water tank on priority basis for the better deliverance of public facilities to people at their doorstep.

XEN, PHE was directed to take appropriate measures to complete these tanks in a time bound manner.Speaking on the occasion, DDC Kishtwar said that Tendering process in Jal Jeevan Mission in the District is in progress and soon each house shall get saturated with tap water connectivity.

He asked the Pani Samitis to ensure the monitoring of Quality of works under JJM in the area.On the issue of construction of left out panchayat Ghars in block, DDC Kishtwar directed ACD Kishtwar to expedite the pace of construction of these panchayat Ghars so that the working of panchayats do not suffer anymore. 

On the occasion, the people also raised the issue of road connectivity to  various left out  habitations including the approach  road to Health Sub Centre Palmar on priority.The issue of pending Blacktopping on Phattana road and issue of the construction of various roads stuck due to various reasons in the block were also highlighted during the outreach programme.

DDC Kishtwar gave onspot directions to R&B and PMGSY authorities for the immediate resolution of road connectivity issues by including the left out habitations with population more than 250 houses under the prevailing Phase of PMGSY.

He exhorted upon the Indenting Departments to take stringent action against the poor performing contractors so that the pace of the works taken in the block is not compromised.The BDC Chairperson called for early disposal of the grievances projected by the PRIs and individuals.

The DDC asked the Officers to come up with the solution of the issues pertaining to their departments and give a timeline of action to redress the same.He assured people that their genuine demands will be redressed on priority as the block diwas programme aims at the time bound redressal of grievances.
