On the eve of India’s 75th Independence Year, celebrating 75 years of Amrit Mahotsav, Sant Nirankari Mission initiated its ‘Urban Tree Cluster’ campaign. Under this campaign the OnenessVann project, with the guidance and blessings of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, have been organized in several states in India, where lakhs of saplings have been planted. The sewadal members and devotees of Sant Nirankari Mission have a huge contribution in this massive initiative.

Under this initiative, Sant Nirankari Mission’s Mohali Phase VI and TDI City branches came together to plant 400 saplings at Kamla Park in Industrial Area Phase VI. This event was inaugurated by Mohali S.D.M Smt. Sarvjit Kaur by planting a sapling.

Commending the efforts of Sant Nirankari Mission, Smt. Sarvjit Kaur Ji said that the saplings we plant today will be monumental in improving our surroundings and helping decrease pollution and climatic temperatures. All saplings were planted keeping the vicinity’s climatic and geographical conditions in mind. The sewadal members of Sant Nirankari Mission will also tend to the plants for a period of three years after plantation, including taking care of watering and manuring.

In the time of excessive global warming and increasing environmental threats, the significance of afforestation has increased manifold. The pandemic, since 2020, has taught us of the invaluable importance of natural oxygen, and the issues we face due to lack of it. One ought to keep in mind that human existence is only possible and can only flourish with an adequate amount of oxygen, of which trees are a great natural resource.

On this occasion of inauguration of OnenessVann, Sanyojak Dr. J.K.Cheema Ji said that Satguru Mata Sudhiksha Ji Maharaj initiated this campaign last year on August 21, following which close to 1,50,000 saplings were planted in 350 locations in the country.

Satguru Mata Ji also gave out the message that to maintain a balance of oxygen which we obtain from trees on planet earth, there is a need to look at afforestation more seriously. This will help generation and flow of natural oxygen and fresh air. Satguru Mata Ji also said that just how OnenessVann is exemplary of unity in diversity, the humankind should also forget its divides and lead a peaceful coexistence to make this world a beautiful place.

Satguru Mata Ji presented as example that much like the significance of elderly in our lives, the presence of trees is imperative. It is a common understanding that Sant Nirankari Mission, a spiritual presence world over, believes in the thought of love, tolerance and unity.

In addition, the Mission also works towards betterment of the environment with its frequent plantation drives, water conservation, campaigns promoting the ban of plastic, and is one of the first in its environmental initiatives.
