Govt. Bikram college of commerce, Patiala in continuation of the programs chalked out for 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahaotsav' organized a function on Sunday August 14, 2022. The program started with the patriotic song 'Sare Jahan Se Acha' fulfilling the enthusiasm in the students and the staff. Principal Prof (Dr.) Kusum Lata lighted the lamp and addressed the gathering motivating them to keep the fire of patriotism burning in their hearts. The guests from the Deaf and Dumb Club were given a special honour.  The importance of National flag was presented in detail by Dr. Apra and through a PPT prepared by the HEIS Dept. A special documentary on 'Challenges faced by the war widows' prepared by Women Study Center, Punjabi University, Patiala was shown on full screen to let the students know about what price the people have paid for granting us the freedom which we are enjoying today. A cultural program was organized by the students. There were various competitions on Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Essay Writing, Declamation, Best Selfie with tricolor dedicated to this special day were organized. The winners and the participants were honoured by the Principal. A small token of respect was presented to all members of the teaching and non-teaching staff for their contribution to the institution. A rally by the college students and the staff members holding tri colour Flags was conducted after the function. Dr. Apra (Asst Prof.) and Dr. Jyoti Tirthani (NSS Program Officer) organized the program in coordination with all members of staff. Prof. Ram Kumar presented a Vote of Thanks. The program ended with the National Anthem. After the program the refreshment of Kadhi-Chawal prepared in Azadi Ki Rasoi was provided to the students.
