The District Administration Anantnag in collaboration with Youth Services and Sports and Education departments today organised Jashne-e-Tiranga under 'Har Ghar Trianga' flagship programme at sports stadium, here.The programme witnessed huge participation of students and officials of various departments including that of Information, Education, NYK and Social Welfare.

The sports stadium reverberated with patriotic songs amid nationalistic fervour. The stadium presented a colourful look when the students presented formation of 'I Love MY INDIA' by forming human chain.The Additional District Development Commissioner, Bashir Ahmad Wani and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ghulam Hassan Shiekh jointly unfurled the National Flag followed by singing of national anthem.   

Speaking on the occasion, the Additional District Development Commissioner said that it is the fundamental duty of every citizen to uphold the dignity and respect of the National Flag, which he said symbolises pride and freedom of the nation. He stressed upon the teachers to inculcate the patriotic and nationalistic values among the students while calling for  making  Har Ghar Trianga programme a grand success.

He said all the citizens must unfurl the Tiranga on their homes from August 13 to 15 to observe the national festival in letter and spirit.Later, a pledge taking ceremony of drug de-addiction was  held  under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan at the venue. The District Social Welfare Officer administered the pledge. The programme was also attended by ACD, CEO, Principals of various institutions, Dy Director NYK, media fraternity besides the officials of various departments.
