The ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abiyan’ was today observed in Government offices across district Kupwara.The concerned officers disseminated detailed awareness about the ill effects of Drugs and benefits of making India Nasha Mukt country and administered a pledge to keep themselves, friends and homes free from drugs.

The Government offices where the heads of the institutions gave pledge include D.C Office Kupwara, ADC Office Handwara, SDM Office Lolab/Karnah, District Information Centre Kupwara, Social Welfare Department, ACD Office Kupwara, Degree Colleges, Higher Secondary Schools, High Schools, Middle Schools and ICDS Centres. 

Youth Services & Sports Department Kupwara organized rallies under the theme ‘Say No to drugs’. All the schools carried out rallies against the drug abuse and awareness was also generated through cultural activities including Drama, Skits and speeches. 

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir complimented the efforts of schools and Government offices for disseminating proper awareness against the drug abuse.He said that it is the duty of every individual to work for the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abiyan’ adding that this should not be confined to a single day instead he urged to continuously work against the drug menace.
