Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today chaired the District Level Coordination and Implementation Committee (DLIC) meeting for the revival, restoration, conservation, Preservation and Maintenance of architectural and heritage sites in the district.

At the outset, the meeting was briefed about the mandate and objectives of the scheme and the progress made on the scheme so far.During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held about the already identified architectural and heritage sites including Historical artifacts, religious sites and shrines and brief discussion was held for revival, restoration and preservation of such sites.

While discussing the objectives of the scheme, the DC said that it was imperative to formulate and finalise a well devised plans for revival, restoration, preservation, and maintenance of architectural and heritage sites of the district and such a scheme will prove instrumental to restore the sites to their original positions.

The committee members informed the chair that the survey of such sites in the district has been carried out and the list of sites has been finalized besides the DPRs will be framed accordingly.The DC enjoined upon the committee members to maintain close coordination for smooth execution of the scheme in the district. 

“A multi-dimensional approach has to be adopted for the revival of these sites including landscaping, approach path, informational boards, public amenities, clean-drinking water facility, etc. as mandated in the scheme” he added.

Moreover, the DC stressed upon the DLIC to start Creation of District Digital Repository of the events, stories, folklores, life events of unsung heroes  to highlight the history of the District and to showcase accomplishments and exquisite courage shown by local leaders,  and the events not much known to the fellow citizens,

The meeting was attended by ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, CEO, KDA Inderjeet Singh Parihar, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal, BDOs, Tehsildars besides other Executive members of DLIC.
