 Chairman District Development Council Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal today convened a meeting of Jal Shakti and JPDCL department here in the conference hall of DC office Doda to review their performance under different flagship schemes, besides also shared the issues of general public with mining and NHIDCL agencies for time bound redressal.

While reviewing the coverage of left out households for electricity, the chair was informed   DPRs for 24 uncovered hamlets stands were submitted and the electrification of these habitations would be started on war footing as soon as the RDDS scheme was launched.

 It was further given out that a few uncovered habitations have been projected under District and UT capex and the same would be covered in the current FY.The Chairman DDC directed the JPDCL officials to frame a comprehensive plan for shifting of rotten wooden poles, barbed wires, creation of new substations and augmentation of Sub Stations and share the same with the Council for projection at the highest level for time bound approval. 

Besides, he asked them to charge all the newly created sub stations to improve the power supply scenario and to benefit the general public in far off areas.With regard to non-feasible works projected under District capex/ADP by the Councillors, the Chairman asked the concerned department to discuss the same with the concerned Councillor to execute some other need based work. 

The Councillors were asked to prioritise the works as per the fixed ceiling.Regarding JJM, it was informed that the process for Technical Sanction and Administrative Approval of schemes have been expedited at the apex level and the allotment process shall be started soon. 

Besides it was said that equipment and other material has started to arrive and the execution of schemes would be started simultaneously.The Chairman also discussed the issues of the general public and representatives including irregularities in sale of minor minerals, ongoing illegal extraction etc. 

He directed the concerned to share the list of rates of minor minerals with the DDC/BDC Chairpersons, besides also directed to share the list of crushers operating in the district with full details of documents.

The Councillors also raised the problems faced by the people due to execution of road projects including damage to crops, uneven dumping in nallahs leading to congestion, fixation of crash barriers, widening of blackspots, besides other issues and sought the intervention of NHIDCL.

Responding to the issues, the GM NHIDCL informed the house that around 10KM of crash barriers have been erected and 2.8KM will be erected in the upcoming days. Besides, the blackspots identified by the DRSC members were widened and some others were in process of widening, he added.

To examine the issues at ground level, the Chairman DDC constituted a committee to be headed by ADDC to report positively within the next seven days.The house also discussed promotion of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The public representatives were asked to actively engage with locals for the  grand success of the Tiranga campaign.

Among others present at the meeting were VC DDC Sangeeta Rani Bhagat; DDC Councillors, BDC Chairpersons, ADDC Doda, SE Hydraulic, SE JPDCL, AC Panchayat, Ex Ens, DMO, GM NHIDCL, and other concerned officials.
