Vice Chairperson District Development Council Udhampur, Juhi Manhas Pathania hosted a colourful programme in the premises of the Government High school Bland to felicitate students, staff and parents for excellent results in recently declared Class 10 results.

She was accompanied by Mool Raj, DDC member Ramnagar-1 and Jasvir Singh, member DDC Pancheri. Both of them spoke and shared their valuable views. Rathar Jasvir underscored the need for adequate staff in schools of Panchari, Mongri areas. Situated in the heart of a dense forest area (Parlidhar), the school has least staff, lesser infrastructure and other recreational facilities.

But the students of the area have excelled in the recently declared 10th class results. One of the students has secured 93% marks. All the students have passed the matriculation examination. This is a remarkable jump in the overall performance of the school.

It is the same vein that Ritika Sharma from Badhole has secured the first position in the overall matriculation examination while securing 499 out of 500 marks.  She also reads in government school Badhol. It is in the same vein that students of the Udhampur area have tried to do their best to bring laurels to their area, to their parents and to their schools despite all hiccups and hardships."If all the students passed when  the staff had been performing in such a situation, we need to appreciate and honour them" she said. A prize distribution ceremony was held in the premises of the school.

Juhi hailed the students for showing excellent results despite not having adequate staff and infrastructure. Pathania also launched a plantation drive in the area. The plantation drive was carried out by the NGO, Sanjeevani Jan Kalyan Trust Udhampur. She called upon people to massively plant trees and then protect them and ensure that forest/green cover is maintained as plants are life.

Later, she convened a Janta Darbar  and addressed the day-to-day issues of the local public. She called upon the concerned departments to immediately ensure that all the flood blocked channels, canals and roads are restored at the earliest.

Gopal Sharma, Local Sarpanch; Sagar Verma, Social worker; Shankuntla Devi and other local sarpanches and panches remained present.    Ashok Kumar, NT Ramnagar, Ramalo Ram, ZEO Ramnagar,  Putcher Ram, ZEO Babey, AEE PMGSY, AEE PWD and other officers of the line departments were also present on the occasion.
