A meeting to review the performance of various sectors under district plan was held here under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Samba, R.K Varma.It was revealed that against the availability of Rs.12.53 crore, Rs. 4.70 crore have been expended during the first quarter ending June 2013, which makes 37% expenditure. During the meeting, financial and physical achievements under various sectors like irrigation, power, rural sanitation, self employment, MG-NREGA were reviewed in detail. Besides, progress of construction works being done under NABARD, Health, Education, PHE, Fisheries and construction work of school buildings under District Plan, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhmik Shiksha Abhiyan was also reviewed in detail.
The DDC asked the Executive Engineer, PWD and officers of Rural Development Department to further gear up their staff to accelerate the speed of ongoing works for timely completion.Under Special Area Programme, Gujjar and Bakerwal component has registered 20% of expenditure while as Welfare of SC & OBC has registered 39%of expenditure during the period. The DDC also directed the district officers to conduct tours to the project sites for effective monitoring of development works. He directed the concerned officers to create massive awareness about different State and Centrally sponsored schemes especially MGNREGA and exhorted upon the officers to ensure that benefits of various development and welfare schemes reach to the beneficiaries in time.Among others SE, PWD (R&B), Jammu-Kathua, ACD Samba, General Manager DIC, Samba CEO, Samba ,CAO, Samba, CMO, Samba, Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B), PDD, Flood Control, PHE, besides the officers of various departments were present in the meeting
