The District Development Council Chairman Samba, Keshav Dutt Sharma and Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta today convened a Public Outreach Programme here at Border village Chak Balotre in block Ramgarh and listened to public demands and aspirations.
During the programme, Block Development Council Chairman Darshan Singh, Sarpanch Chak Balotria Roop Chand and other PRI members and locals projected their issues, demands and pendency before the District administration Samba.
They also appreciated progress achieved by district administration in the execution of developmental projects in the block. Special mention was made to a recently completed project of power development department and construction of infrastructure under JJM.
The issues regarding the construction of Ramgarh SM Pura road, incomplete mini sports stadium, nonpayment of NREGA wages, erratic supply of electricity to the area, lack of water discharge at tail end of irrigation canal, restriction on movement of farmers on border track by BSF, flood protection work at Tanvar post and nearby areas were discussed in detail.
The PRIs further demanded for speedy tendering and execution of the works under area development fund.Responding to the projected issues, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that each demand would be taken up and resolved within a stipulated time frame.
Directions were issued to all executing agencies to immediately start work on the tendered works failing which strict action shall be taken. She gave detailed information about the initiative of the Government to promote online services of different departments and arrangement of CSC operators in tehsil offices to help the public for applying online.
She also asked people to avail benefits of Ayushman scheme, go for Aadhar enrolment, highly beneficial insurance schemes like Jeevan Surksha yojna etc.
The Chairman DDC informed the gathering that the Government has sanctioned many works under Smridh Seema Yojna for the development of border areas.
“Many other schemes under JJM and NABARD are also under implementation in the area”, he said and exhorted the public to wholeheartedly participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga programme.
Later, the DC samba also visited the mini sports stadium being constructed by Sports Council in Chak Shama and the site proposed for establishment of a smart library in Chak Hira under the Smridh Seema Yojana, a UT Capex scheme.
She directed the executing agencies to expedite the development work for the benefit of local youth. ACR Samba and SDM Ghagwal also held public outreach programmes at Sumb and Ghagwal respectively and redressed many public grievances on the spot.
