Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti on Monday chaired a meeting of District Environmental Committee and discussed in detail the draft District Environmental plan preparation for further submission to the authorities for its approval.
The meeting was attended by CEO Doda, DIO DIPR Doda, MS Associated Hospital GMC Doda, District Immunization Officer, Ex En JPDCL, EO MC Doda, Forest Range Officer and other concerned officials.
The Committee was informed that the district has to submit the draft plan in accordance with revised guidelines of National Green Tribunal by the end of this week.
Accordingly all the stakeholders were directed to submit the action plan/ comments within two days in the light of latest NGT guidelines, for the timely submission of the draft district Environmental plan for approval.
The Geology and Mining department was directed to conduct the audit of each leased out mineral block and submit the report on mineral wastes.The stakeholders were directed to carry out extensive awareness and enforcement campaigns for the protection and conservation of the environment. Municipalities and Hospital authorities were asked to focus on implementation of the directions of NGT and District Environmental Committee.
