Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor GNDU., Amritsar today released the book ‘Sri Guru Granth Sahib Vich Pashuan da Zikar' authored by Prof. Pushpinder Jai Roop and published by Centre on Studies in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Guru Nanak Dev University. On this occasion, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Sarbjot Singh Behal, Prof. Amarjit Singh Director, Prof. Raunki Ram Punjab University Chandigarh, HOD and faculty members of Biology Department were also present.

This book presents to the readers the complete details of the mammals mentioned in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The subject of the book is related to an area about which very little research work has been done so far. In the book, the learned author has provided a detailed description of the various animals used in the verses of the bani of Sri Guru Granth Sahib and has provided ample information about their nature and species. 

This book also highlights the attitude and relationship of the Banikars of Sri Guru Granth Sahib towards nature and environment. The detail of animals is arranged alphabetically in Gurmukhi letters. Some important tables included in the book provide valuable information.
