The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today distributed Wushu equipment among the athletes of the district under “Nasha Mukt Bharat” at Mini Secretariat, here.The DC on the occasion applauded the athletes and expressed his gratitude to the J&K Government and more specifically to the Sports Council for grooming the competitive spirit among the youth through this initiative.
He also anticipated the need of organising Wushu competitions to enlighten the society and prepare them physically and mentally to brave all the challenges whenever need arises.Vaishya emphasized the youth to work hard for the growth of sports in the district and stressed them to participate in sports activities to channelize their energy in positive direction and bring laurels to the district by participating in national and international competitions.
Wushu Association Shopian thanked District Administration Shopian for encouraging the youth of the district by providing Wushu equipment to them.Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, DSWO Shopian, Members of Coach Wushu Association and other concerned were present at the distribution ceremony.
