District Election Officer Reasi, Babila Rakwal today held a meeting with representatives of political parties of District Reasi in connection with the ongoing process of Rationalization of Polling Stations.
The District Election Officer welcomed the participants and briefed them regarding the existing scenario of Assembly Constituencies and polling stations in District Reasi. She also apprised the participants regarding the ongoing process of rationalization and post delimitation exercise.
Later, each ERO apprised the participants regarding the existing as well as proposed polling stations in detail along with the reasons for rationalization. Objections/Suggestions of the representatives were well taken and discussed in the meeting.
The District Election Officer further stated that the draft notification of polling stations shall be published and formal objections/Suggestions shall also be received by this office. She further stated that such meetings will be conducted at regular intervals so that every political party shall remain well versed with the process.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Mahore (ERO 56-Gulabgarh (ST), Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reasi (ERO 57-Reasi), Sub Divisional Magistrate Katra (ERO 58-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi) and Tehsildar Bhomag were also present in the meeting.
