Talks Held With Indusrialists, Takes Suggestions For New Industrial Policy

With a view to make necessary changes in existing industrial policy so that new document to be introduced considering all genuine concerns of industry, a special interactive session with industry held here in which industrialists from Hoshiarpur and Kapurthala also participated to furnish their views and suggestions for policy in pipeline.

Industry Department’s Secretary-cum-Director C. Sibin interacted with the industrialists to get their genuine concerns and valuable suggestions, which could be incorporated while framing the new policy. He said that the department was working zealously to make necessary changes in the existing policy so that the upcoming document could also be made as per the present needs of the industry. 

Earlier, such sessions have been held in other parts of the state to note the issues pertaining with the different industrial sectors, he added.Reiterating that the department would make all out efforts to roll out industrial policy, which is appreciated by all the stakeholders, the Secretary-cum-Director said industrial growth was call of the day for inclusive development of state.  

Chamber of Industries & Commerce Jalandhar’s Secretary Charanjit Singh Maingi suggested that subsidy policy should be simplified while Sports Goods Association’s General Secretary Mukul Verma demanded a Sports University for Jalandhar. Representing Tools Industry Ashwani Victor expressed that new incentives and schemes should be initiated to facilitate industry. 

Focal Point Extension Association’s President Narinder Singh Saggu suggested to done away with land enhancement.Northern Chamber of Small & Medium Industry’s Jalandhar President Sharad Aggarwal urged to roll out new incentives for hand tool industry. Similarly, Joint Action Commitees President Gursharan Singh demanded incentives for existing industry on the pattern of new industry. 

Arvinder Dhumal flagged that tourism industry should be promoted in upcoming policy. Representing Tools Exporters & Manufacturers Association Jalandhar Shant Gupta demanded incentives for existing units besides ending of audit changes in zed schemes.Tushar Jain said auto sector should also be encouraged in new policy. 

Bhavdeep Sardana expressed that requisite changes should be made in Environment Policy besides developing a textile park. Large & Medium Industry Association Hoshiarpur demanded changes in investment subsidy and abolish dual approvals.

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included ADC (UD) Hoshiarpur Sandeep Kumar, ADC (G) Major Amit Sareen, SDM Balbir Raj Singh, SDM Dr. Jai Inder Singh, Joint Director of Industries & Commerce Department Vishav Bandhu, GM Industries from Jalandhar Deep Singh Gill, GM Hoshiarpur Arun Kumar and GM Kapurthala Simarjot Singh and industrialists from different industries.
