After Ek Villain Returns, now John Abraham is all set to enthral the audience once again with his next film. He dropped a video, announcing his first collaboration with producer Dinesh Vijan for the upcoming action thriller `Tehran`. Taking to Instagram, the `Housefull 2` actor shared an announcement video, to which he captioned, "Lights Camera Time for some ACTION! #Tehran shoot begins!" The upcoming film has been directed by Arun Gopalan, and is inspired by true events. The story was written by Ritesh Shah and Ashish Prakash Verma. The `Race 2` actor has commenced the shoot of this action thriller today which is on 11 July.
In the film's powerful announcement video, John Abraham sports a serious expression. "Tehran" is a Maddock Films and Bake My Cake Films collaboration. In addition to Vijan, Shobhna Yadav and Sandeep Leyzell are listed as the movie's producers.
In talking about the film, he said in an interview in April, “It is very Madras Café meets Batla House meets Parmanu. It’s in the geo-political space and I am so excited to start shooting for Tehran. I would probably be the first actor out of India to be shooting in Iran. I am very excited to be there.”
He added that his mom has 21 cousins in Iran, and he will therefore take her to the shoot. "If you’re invested in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, wonder what China is doing, what Iran is doing, where does Palestine fit in this whole thing, Tehran is about all of this. It’s a stunning film."

For the unversed, John Abraham is surely one of the busiest actors, with a number of films lined up in his kitty. He was last seen in Lakshya Raj Anand's action-thriller film, Attack: Part 1, alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh, with Prakash Raj and Ratna Pathak Shah in supporting roles.
