The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Saturday distributed awards among the winner schools of the district under Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (SVP) 2021-22 in a district level award ceremony held at DIET Kulgam.

Chief Education Officer Kulgam, M Ashraf Rather; Chief Medical Officer Kulgam,  M Rafiq; Deputy CEO Kulgam, Ab Gani Bhat; Principals, ZEOs, HOIs of all High schools, HOIs of Winner schools, students and public representatives attended the function with great enthusiasm.

Chief Education Officer Kulgam informed that a total 1042 schools from district Kulgam had applied online for  District Level SVP Award and 422 were approved by the Ministry of Education and Literacy, Govt of India.

After proper physical verification and evaluation of all the schools, 26 schools were selected for District Level SVP Award.The District Level award ceremony was organised by the Department of Education in Collaboration with District Administration Kulgam to award the winning schools.

Various cultural items on Swachh Vidyalaya and Swachh Bharat were presented by school children to create awareness among people about Swatcha Abhiyan.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC highly appreciated the role of CEO and his team for their efforts on Swach Bharat Abhiyan and the successful culmination of Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar ceremony. 

Highlighting the importance of swachta, Dr Bilal urged the participants to be part of the change so that the dream of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan could be attained and realized.
