A detailed discussion regarding the Incident Response System (IRS), emergency support functions, planning and coordination between the departments, Communication systems with regard to confronting any major disaster during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2022 was held during a coordination meeting held here at Conference Hall, Mini-Secretariat Ganderbal.

The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir presided over the meeting which was attended by Additional DeputyCommissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Maj Gen. Dr. A.K Niak, CEO SDA, and other district officers attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed the plan via powerpoint presentation to enhance coordination and to synergize efforts of various emergency support functionaries of the district to minimize the loss of life and property by strengthening the Disaster Response Mechanism.

The meeting also debated on the parameters required for the effective response and plans to be made for the smooth functioning of the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) during any major disaster or calamity.

Dr. A.K Niak asked the district administration Ganderbal to formulate a complete plan and designate the officers with different responsibilities, and better coordination between the departments for the effective response during any major disaster.
