Jamaat Ulema-e-Hind President Suhaib Qasmi has given a big statement in the protests against Nupur Sharma's statement in which there have been huge protests in country’s different parts of the country demanding for her execution. Qasmi has said that Nupur Sharma had made controversial remarks on Prophet Muhammad which condemnable thing to express but she should be forgiven according to Islam. The riots that are happening in the country are absolutely wrong, we condemn it.
During a press conference held in Delhi after Nupur Sharma's statement & the violence taking place in country, on behalf of Jamaat Ulama-e-Hind, president Qasmi said, Islam says that Nupur Sharma should be forgiven. He further added that we absolutely condemn the riots and violence that started across the country after Friday prayers against Nupur Sharma and her derogatory remarks.
No-one should take law in his hand: Qasmi
The law of our country does not allow us to break the rules, nor should we break the law and do violence on the streets. This is absolutely unacceptable, we welcome the decision of the law, because India is a law-abiding country and we all should follow the law & order.
Jamaat raised demand to investigate the funding of Muslim organizations:
The Jamaat has appealed to the government to investigate several Muslim organizations and their funding. It is being said that riots are being done forcefully by giving money, this work is being done under conspiracy. For your information, let us tell you that Jamaat Ulema-e-Hind has decided to issue a fatwa against Asaduddin Owaisi and Mohammad Madani. This fatwa says not to support the protest or any violence against Nupur Sharma's remarks.
From different states of the country, 306 rioters have been arrested so far -
In the riots spread after Friday Nawaz, so far about 306 rioters are reported to have been detained from different states of the country, from which state how many arrests have been made, it is as follows:
71 have been arrested in Saharanpur, 51 in Hathras, 34 in Ambedkarnagar, 92 in Prayagraj, 35 in Moradabad, 15 in Firozabad, 6 in Aligarh and 2 in Jalaun.
