Soon after, we meet Rana Daggubati, who plays Comrade Ravanna, well known by his pen name Aranya, the guy she has secretly fallen for. Rana is a member of the Naxalite group, which advocates socialism. The organisation fights for disadvantaged villages that have been victimised by political cruelty. In the film, director Venu Udugula delicately offers a social statement by fusing love and politics.
Virata Parvam, directed by Venu Udugula, is an epic love story set against the backdrop of the Telangana Naxalite Movement in the 1990s. Rana plays Ravanna, and this appears to be one of his best performances. Sai Pallavi's amazing characterization of the character gives charm to the narration with such ease. Suresh Bobbili's background score brilliantly complements each scenario.Meanwhile, apart from Rana and Sai Pallavi, the film stars Priyamani, Nivetha Pethuraj, Nandita Das, and Naveen Chandra.
