DDC Kishtwar reviews progress on PMDP, languishing scheme projects

District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today reviewed the status of works being executed in different parts of the district under languishing projects and the Pradhan Mantri Development Package (PMDP) here at a meeting of heads of the line departments.Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal; CMO   Dr Chander Prakash; Chief Education Officer, Sudershan Kumar Sharma; CAHO Dr Sanjay Sen; Executive Officer Municipal Council Tariq Balwan; Executive Engineers of PWD,PDD,PHE besides the representatives of  line departments and TRANSRAIL and Shalaka Pvt. Ltd attended the meeting.

The DDC reviewed physical and financial progress of each project undertaken by different departments under the languishing project and PMDP schemes.Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal briefed the meeting that against 10 PMDP projects, work on 8 was in progress, while the construction of Tourism Facilitation Centre at GulabGarh and BSC Nursing College Kishtwar has been completed. He further informed that 13 languishing projects have been completed and work on  32 projects was in the progress,  while 4 works have been recommended for de-sanctioning due to litigation and unavailability of land etc.

The DDC set timelines for completion of each project and directed the concerned officers and officials to accelerate the pace of work. He further instructed the executing agencies to ensure use of quality material. Besides, he also assessed the status of technical sanctioning, administrative approval and tendering progress of several other projects. The progress of work on SC Hostel of Government Degree College Kishtwar (BJRCY), Government Polytechnic College building (Sub Mission on Polytechnics under the Coordinated Action for Skill Development),   foot suspension bridge (114 Mtrs) at Atholi Padder, Government Degree College Padder and 50 bedded Integrated Ayush Hospital, besides the execution of works by Shalaka and TRANSRAIL Pvt. Ltd was also reviewed in the meeting.
