Several teams of district administration Doda including District Development Commissioner, ADCs, SDMs and other District and sectoral Officers today took firsthand appraisal of the public grievances and issues at Weekly Block Diwas meetings held at the designated places across the district.The Weekly Block Diwas programmes are being held regularly in the district to ensure on the spot, quality and prompt disposal of public issues at their doorstep.

The District Administration under the overall supervision of DDC Doda Vikas Sharma organised the Block Diwas program at already designated locations across the district, which include Community Hall Batt Market Changa, Bhalessa, Higher Secondary school Malanoo Kahara, Thathri, PWD Guest House Ramgarh Baggar, Assar, Panchayat Ghar Shangroo, Bhaderwah and BDO office Goa Marmat. The DDC chaired a meeting of the officers at BDO office Assar and reviewed the action taken by the departments, agencies on the grievances/directions of previous Block Diwas held in the area. The DDC reiterated that departments need a proactive approach to resolve the issues raised by the public in the public outreach camps.

He directed SDMs and Tehsildars to inspect Schools, health institutions, Anganwadi Centres and other government offices in their respective jurisdiction to improve the public service delivery in these offices. He also said that ADCs, SDMs and Tehsildars must visit far off areas and get   firsthand knowledge of the public issues so that the same are understood and resolved timely.SDM Assar was instructed to take a meeting of the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department and ensure the process of inclusion and exclusion goes as per guidelines of the department. The BMO Assar was directed to install a newly purchased X-Ray machine in the PHC Assar immediately to benefit the patients.

The Chief Education Officer was asked to rationalise the teaching staff to overcome problems in schools facing shortage.  “Also ensure all the schools have safe drinking water facilities in the campus.” the DC directed. The Jal Shakti department was asked to expedite the work of providing tap water connections to all households. The RDD authorities were asked to release the pending second installment to PMAY house beneficiaries. Similar grievances redressal programme was held at village Shangroo in Bhalla block in which PRI members and locals participated and projected  demands and issues of public importance before the officers of different departments.

The event was chaired by BDC Chairperson Nousheena Begum in presence of ADC Bhaderwah Ch. Dil Mir, who listened to the grievances and demands of people.They resolved many issues on the spot. The officers of Animal husbandry, ICDS, Horticulture and other departments made the participants aware about different Govt schemes and their benefits. Several issues of public importance were projected and the ADC assured speedy redressal.The program was attended by Tehsildar Bhalla, BDO Bhalla, HDO Doda, CDPO Bhadarwah, AEE PMGSY, TSO Bhalla and officers and representatives of  various other departments viz Agriculture, Animal husbandry, social welfare, and Revenue.                               

During the program domicile certificates and EWS certificates were issued to the applicants.Meanwhile at other designated locations, varied public services were provided to the people and their grievances were resolved by the officers concerned on the spot.As many as 25 domicile certificates, 31 category certificates, 63 revenue papers and 20 birth/death certificates were issued to the beneficiaries on the spot, while 5 families were covered under Ayushmaan Bharat scheme.Moreover 113 applications/grievances were received during the day long program across the district out of which 96 feasible public grievances were disposed of on the spot. Rest of the grievances were forwarded to the concerned quarters for time bound redressal.
