In order to take first hand appraisal of issues and grievances of people for timely redressal under the initiative of Block Diwas, a grievances redressal camp was today presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar at Town Hall Tangmarg. During the programme, several deputations of DDC, including Civil Society Members, representatives of various political parties and locals highlighted various issues of public importance and sought immediate redressal of the same. The PRI members and various delegations from different areas put forth their issues and grievances which include macdamization of road from Chanderseer to Tangmarg, sanction of mini secretariat at Tangmarg, improvement in drinking water supply, dumping site for waste disposal besides availability of timber for locals.
Among other demands, the people sought intervention of DC with regard to up gradation of health care facilities at Sub District Hospital Tangmarg and also highlighted the need of sufficient medical staff in the hospital. The DC gave a patient hearing to all the grievance and demands that were put forth by the PRIs and concerned stakeholders and assured them that all issues shall be taken into consideration for their timely redressal.Addressing the gathering, the DC said that the purpose of holding such grievance redressal Camps is to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment for time bound redressal.
While interacting with the PRIs, the DC urged upon them to play an active part so that inclusive and public oriented projects and schemes are framed in larger public interest. She said that their role will prove pivotal in identifying priority projects. She also said that Health and Education are the priorities of District Administration and it will provide all the possible support to ensure development of Tangmarg in these sectors.Moreover, the DC passed on spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of the grievances of the people.SDM Gulmarg, Sameer Jan, ACD Baramulla, Yaar Ali Khan, DDC member, BDC Chairpersons, Chief Education Officer, G.M. Lone, DIO, Jahangeer Akhoon, various concerned officers besides different stakeholders including PRIs, civil society members, among other prominent citizens of the area were present on the occasion.
