The results of Mandi Parliamentary Constituency (PC) of the State have been declared and Smt. Pratibha Singh, Indian National Congress (INC) Candidate has been declared elected. This was disclosed by Shri Narinder Chauhan, Chief Electoral Officer here today. Shri Chauhan informed that Smt. Pratibha Singh of INC defeated Shri Jai Ram Thakur of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by the margin of 136724 votes. He said that 582249 votes polled in 2- Mandi parliamentary constituency out of which Smt. Pratibha Singh received 353492 votes whereas Shri Jai Ram Thakur received 216768 votes. Chief Electoral officer informed that in 2- Mandi PC Shri Lawan Thakur (PRISM) Candidate received 5932 votes and Sh. Subhash Mohan Snehi Independent Candidate received 6057votes. Four candidates were in the fray in Mandi PC. Shri Chauhan said that counting in all the 1921 counting booths were started early at 8 AM under tight security in the presence of observers deputed by Election Commission of India. He informed that about 7684 election employees were also involved in whole process of election.
