Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma, who is also controller Civil Defence, today chaired a meeting of the concerned Officers to discuss and finalize the civil defence plan for the year 2022.It was given out that the aim of Civil Defence was to save lives, minimize damages to the property and to keep up the morale of the public during any exigency. The DC asked the Member Secretary to involve other line departments also whose services are essential during the exigency. He further asked for regular updating of the equipment on the IRDM portal and submission of the monthly report to his office about the equipment which are in working conditions.
Besides, the DC directed the Member Secretary to convey to all the ADCs and SDMs to convene meetings with Civil defence volunteers to ascertain the actual strength and to enroll more women volunteers.Earlier, the ADC also interacted with the members and asked them to keep their men and machinery always on readiness mode, besides asked them to submit their equipment availability to the Member Secretary so that appropriate plan shall be framed for further submission.The meeting was attended by ADC Doda, CPO Doda, Ex En PDD, Ex En Jal Shakti, Dy SP DAR, AD Fire Services, ARTO Doda, AEE PWD and other officials.
