Chandigarh/Gurugram , 19 May 2022

Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal said that today the real estate sector and the automobile sector are flourishing in tandem in Gurugram. When the Chief Minister was asked what efforts were made by the government to bring back Maruti to the State, he replied 'Maruti is Gurugram and Gurugram is Haryana. Maruti is part of Haryana.' Echoing the same sentiments, Chairman, Maruti, Sh. R. C. Bhargava said that Maruti was in Haryana, is in Haryana and will remain in Haryana. Praising the industrial Policies and investment friendly environment of Haryana, Sh. Bhargava said that today Maruti has purchased land in Kharkhoda for setting up its new plant due to better environment in the state.

Manohar Lal said that Haryana, which came into existence as an agricultural state in the year 1966, has made a distinct identity not only in the country but also abroad for attracting investors due to its better Industrial Policies. Today Haryana has become the first choice of investors for bringing in foreign investment, thereby giving a tough competition to the big states in country, said Sh. Manohar Lal.The Chief Minister said this while addressing a press conference at Hotel Leela Ambience, Gurugram today after the signing of agreements for allotment of land to Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Suzuki Two Wheeler India Private Limited for setting up a plant at IMT Kharkhoda.

Responding to the questions, the Chief Minister said that today HSIIDC is playing a big role in promoting industrialization and encouraging industries in Haryana. Apart from giving 900 acres of land to Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Suzuki Two Wheeler India Private Limited, 1000 plots have also been given to small industrial units in the IMT being developed on 3200 acres in Kharkhoda, Sonipat, informed Sh. Manohar Lal.The Chief Minister said that by making a big change in the Enhancement Policy of the Haryana, the State has given a big relief to the plot holders. The limit of enhancement fee has been fixed by the State Government. The amount in excess of the expected fee will be borne by the government and under this policy, plots worth Rs 15,000 crore have been sold by the government to industrial units through auction.

Responding to a question regarding increase in the cost of production due to inflation, the Chief Minister said that the entire process of production is dependent on demand and supply, which is not in the hands of the government. We can give concession in tax and revenue. Better road infrastructure can be provided to reduce the transportation cost, he said.Responding to a question, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is making serious efforts to bring down the unemployment rate along with helping the youth to set up self-employment ventures.

Today, around 1900 plots have been made available through MSMEs in Haryana, in which an investment of Rs 6 crore to 7 crore has been made.Responding to another query regarding unemployment in Haryana, the Chief Minister said that different types of figures are being presented on unemployment. He said that this agency named CMIE shows the unemployment figure between 10 to 14 percent in its one year old report, while next year this figure reaches 32 to 34 percent, which is not even close to reality.According to the data released by the Labour Department, in Haryana, the employment rate is 8 to 9 percent, whereas in the house-to-house survey being conducted to identify the unemployed through Parivar Pehchan Patra, the unemployment figure has come between 6.5 to 7 percent.

He said that through Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana, so far 40,000 people have been linked to self-employment and employment by connecting them with different government schemes and loan related schemes. A target has been set to connect one lakh such families in the state with these schemes. He said that the government has set a target of creating employment opportunities for 2 lakh people in the state every year. In order to provide employment opportunities to the people in the state, the recruitment of the C and D groups will be done soon. Besides this, a roadmap is being prepared by the state government to make one lakh people employable abroad by providing them required skilling so that the number of NRIs increases and people can also get employment across the globe.
