BJP State President And MP Suresh Kashyap met Harsh Chauhan Chairperson for National Commission for Scheduled Tribes and Member National Commission for Scheduled Tribes Ananta Nayak at thier Delhi Office.Suresh Kashyap Said that in this meeting we have discussed the Hati issue regarding trans-giri area extensively. Soon trans-giri area will be have a tribal status.He said it is BJP which have voiced out the demand of the natives of this area in the centre.
Prior to this meeting a delegation led by Chief minister Jairam Thakur and me have met the union Home minister Amit shah for giving Hati a tribal status and the home minister was quite positive for the same.He further said that this community enjoys tribal status in Uttarakhand which shares border with Sirmour district.BJP President said that they were accorded this status long back in 1968 and share similar culture and socio-economic conditions with those residing in district Sirmour.This decision will benefit about three lakh population of 154 panchayats of trans-giri area. This community resides in four assembly constituencies of Sirmour district which include Shillai, Paonta, Renuka and Pachhad.
Kashyap elaborated on the long struggle by the BJP to get Hati tribal status during the Congress governments and the demand was rejected several times by the Congress. He said that the BJP governments at the Center and in the state have always taken a favorable stand for the Hati community and the present central government has understood the long pending demand of the community and the reality of the struggle.
He said that Home Minister Amit Shah will visit himachal when this status is awarded to the community by the centre government. The rally to be held on this occasion will be historic.People of Sirmour have complete faith in the centre government under the able leadership of PM Narendra Modi.
