To adress the grievances of people at their doorsteps, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today presided over Block Divas programme here at village Poochal of District Kishtwar. Chairman Block Development Council Suresh Sharma; Additional District Development Commissioner Sham Lal; DPO Sunil Bhutyal, XEn PHE, BDO Kishtwar besides other officers attended the meeting.Sarpanch and Panches besides locals of the village Poochal projected their demands and grievances which mainly related to shortage of water in Poochal and its adjoining areas, incomplete work on Poochal and other Concerned road, pending land and structure compensation, slow pace on installation on water gravity line to Poochal, defunct water hand pumps, drainage issues, demand for SRTC bus services for students, removal of land encroachment along the road, camping of patwar khana at Poochal and BT work on road.
Responding to the demands, the DC Kishtwar issued on the spot directions to the concerned authorities for the redressal of the same and directed them to ensure compliance without any fail. With regard to the shortage of the Water Supply in the Poochal areas, the DC Kishtwar directed XEn PHE to expedite the work on the dedicated Water Supply schemes. He asked to ensure plugging of the leakage at different places to avoid wastage and availability of adequate supply of water to the area.Besides, XEn PHE was also directed to submit a water augmentation plan within a week so that appropriate steps are taken well in time.DC Kishtwar further stressed on the rationalisation of field staff and equitable distribution of water supply in the area.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that the PHE department has been directed to immediately repair the hand pumps to meet the growing water demand.The concerned authorities were also directed to take concrete measures to restore the water body at Sarkoot for maintaining ecological balance in the area.The DC also assured to take up the demand for the start of SRTC bus service for the students of Poochal area with the concerned officers. “In the meantime some intern arrangements will be made by providing permission to local matador owners on immediate basis” he said.Directions regarding the timely payment of land and fruit bearing plant compensation, provision of drainage alongside Poochal road, eviction of encroachments, camping of Patwar Khana at Poochal were also given to concerned officers and were asked for the timely compliance thereof.
