‘Haryana government's first Atal Cancer Care Centre dedicated to the people’

Bharatiya Janata Party's National President and Rajya Sabha MP, Sh. J.P. Nadda said that AIIMS will be opened in Haryana, whose foundation will be laid soon by the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi.Sh. J.P. Nadda shared this information today in a programme organised at the inauguration of ‘Atal Cancer Care Centre’ in Ambala. Sh. J.P. Nadda and Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal inaugurated the first Tertiary Care Cancer Centre (TCCC) i.e. ‘Atal Cancer Care Centre' of the Government in Ambala Cantonment. From today this Centre has been dedicated to the public, he added.

On this occasion, Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P. Dalal, MP Sh. Rattanlal Kataria, MP Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Sh. O.P. Yadav, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sardar Sandeep Singh, MLA, Sh. Aseem Goyal, BJP State President, Sh. Omprakash Dhankhar were present.

Praising the working style of the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, Sh. J.P. Nadda said that today it is because of their efforts that the largest Cancer Care Centre in North India has been set up in Haryana. He said that this Cancer Care Centre built at a cost of Rs 72.11 crore would help in rendering accessible, affordable and comprehensive treatment to cancer patients not only in Haryana but also in neighbouring states like Punjab, Himachal and Uttarakhand etc. In this Centre, people will be treated through medical, surgery and radiation, thus, the people will be given proper treatment to fight cancer.

He said that the country’s largest Cancer Centre has been opened in Jhajjar in Haryana itself at a cost of Rs 2,035 crore, where there is a provision of 710 beds. Sharing information in this regard, Sh. Nadda said that the Central Government is going to conduct population-based screening, under which cancer will be detected at the first stage by screening people up to the age of 30 years. Similarly, with respect to Health and Wellness Centres, he said that 1.5 lakh Wellness Centres would be opened in the country, out of which 1.18 lakh Centres have been set up so far and out of these, 1147 Centres have been set up in Haryana.

Haryana becomes self-reliant in terms of oxygen

Sh. Nadda said that Haryana has become self-sufficient in terms of oxygen which is a matter of joy. Also, the country is becoming self-sufficient in terms of oxygen. Praising the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, he said that under the leadership of Sh. Modi, 2500 PSA plants were set up in 112 days, from which 3324 tonnes of oxygen is now being produced. Similarly, he said that an AMRUT scheme is being run in relation to health, under which arrangements have been made to provide medicines, artificial body organs and surgery etc. on behalf of the Central Government at 50 percent. He said that under this scheme 225 Centres have been started across the country, out of which 5 Centres are in Haryana. So far, 2.93 crore patients have availed this scheme and medicines worth Rs 4512 crore have been provided to the people in just Rs 2324 crore.

Sh. J.P. Nadda praised the working style of the Haryana government

Sh. J.P. Nadda said that the BJP Government has ensured that the people falling in the category of below poverty line is below 1 percent and has worked to uplift 12 percent people from the below poverty line. Similarly, Haryana has given 4,000 top-ups along with an amount of Rs 6000 to the farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana. In this way the farmers of Haryana are getting the benefit of Rs.10,000. Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, people with less than 1.80 lakh annual income have also been included in the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, for which he expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and the Health Minister. Similarly, 485 schemes of 37 departments have been made online in Haryana and people are availing its benefits while sitting at home.

BJP leaders believe in submitting report cards

Speaking with regard to the achievements of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij in their speech, Sh. Nadda said that the leaders of the BJP are proud to present their report card in front of the public.He said that BJP leaders are committed to the promises they make and ensure they are fulfilled. This is a sign of change in the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi. He said that we do not do politics in the name of caste, region, religion and nepotism, we do politics on the basis of our report card. He said that this Centre has been opened in Ambala today, why this Centre had to wait for Sh. Manohar Lal and Sh. Anil Vij for so long? it is itself a question mark on the working of the previous governments.

Today the country is changing, the country has become a giver and is not a beggar

He said that our government is pro-responsive and pro-responsible and the country is changing. The country has now become a giver and doesn’t beg from others. Presenting the data regarding medicine for some diseases, he said that 10 years for chickenpox medicine, 27 years for BCG medicine, 30 years for polio vaccine, 37 years for hepatitis medicine, 38 years for medicine for tetanus, 22 years for measles and 100 years for the medicine of Japanese fever to reach India. But under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, in 9 months, not one or two vaccines of Corona were given to the country.

He said that the Prime Minister saved 130 crore people from Corona and launched the fastest and largest vaccination campaign in the country by applying 190 crore vaccines. Up to 2.5 crore vaccine were administered administered in a day. India gave 185 crore vaccines to 100 countries and 143 crores free vaccines to 48 countries.Referring to the Ukraine-Russia war-crisis, Sh. Nadda said that India was the only country which had successfully rescued 23,000 of its children within a month, out of which 1700 were from Haryana. He said that the Government of India has done the work of giving 5-kg wheat and 5-kg rice to 80 crore people since March and the World Health Organization has praised it and while advising other countries, said that the policy which Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has followed in the country should be adopted by other countries as well.

Cancer, Thalassemia and Haemophilia patients will get pension of Rs. 2,500: Chief Minister

Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that today is a proud day that the state has received such a huge gift from the health viewpoint. He said that cancer patients would be treated in this hospital with modern technology. The Chief Minister said that the Government of India as well as the Government of Haryana has taken a very good initiative for the health of the people. Cancer AIIMS has been made in Badsha, Jhajjar. This is the biggest cancer hospital, here also the work of giving life to cancer patients is being done.

Cancer Care Centre benefits patients from Haryana as well as neighboring states

Manohar Lal said that about 28,000 cancer patients come to Haryana every year. Now, their lives can be saved with the help of health technology. The 'Atal Cancer Care Centre' set up at the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment will help in providing accessible, affordable and comprehensive treatment to cancer patients not only from Haryana but also from neighbouring states like Punjab, Himachal and Uttarakhand etc. He said that Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah Sarve Santu Niramaya means that everyone should be happy, may all be disease free, we are walking with this idea.

Hostel to be built for attendants in Atal Cancer Care Centre

The Chief Minister said that along with this state-of-the-art Centre, a hostel of capacity of 100 people would also be built for the convenience of the attendants accompanying the patients so that they do not face any kind of trouble. The Chief Minister said that if there is any need in future also, he is ready for that too. The Chief Minister announced that only two machines with world's latest technology Positron Emission Tomography and Single Photon Emission Tomography would be installed in this state-of-the-art centre for complete cancer treatment at a cost of Rs.34 crore.

Announcement of pension to the victims of serious diseases

The Chief Minister announced that a pension of Rs. 2,500 per month would be given by the Haryana Government to the cancer patients of Stage III and IV. Along with this, arrangement of pension has also been made for the patients of Thalassemia and Haemophilia. The Government is already giving pension to AIDS patients.

Medical colleges will be built in every district of the state by 2025

The Chief Minister said that cancer treatment would be free under Ayushman, under which the cost of treatment up to 5 lakh would be borne. Sh. Manohar Lal said that soon the Atal Cancer Care Centre in Ambala Cantonment would be included in the list of Ayushman Bharat Scheme. Specialized doctors are being trained. Medical colleges will be ready in every district of the state by 2025. The government has increased MBBS seats and in future also these seats will be increased to meet the shortage of doctors.

BJP never compromised with its ideology- Anil Vij

Earlier, Haryana Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij while welcoming all the guests said that the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is inspired by the ideology of Shyama Prasad Mookerjee and Deen Dayal Upadhyay, has moved ahead and we have never compromised on our ideology. . Shyama Prasad Mookerjee sacrificed his life to raise the slogan of Ek Desh, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan and BJP did the work of abrogating Article 370 in Kashmir as soon as it came to power and today Kashmir is taking advantage of the schemes being run by the Central Government like other provinces.

Prime Minister made all the schemes in the spirit of Antyodaya- Vij

Referring to the ideology of Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Sh. Vij said that Upadhyay ji used to say that do welfare of the last person standing in the queue and today all the schemes made by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi are dedicated to them, whether giving monthly assistance to the farmers. Whether it is a matter of giving stove to women or whether it is a matter of giving food grains to the poor. Today, the country is referred as a credible one at international platform. Prime Minister Sh. Modi is talked about for the Ukraine-Russia war as well. In fact recently, the ambassadors of the US and Russia have spoken to Prime Minister Modi regarding the Ukraine war, which is an ideological victory. Referring to Covid-19, he said that the country was taken over by the proficient ideology of the Prime Minister to tackle Covid and today the country's economy is gaining momentum.He said that today Sh. Nadda has inaugurated this Atal Cancer Care Centre, which used to be an old hospital earlier.

Regarding the Haryana-Punjab partition in 1966, he said that at that time only Ambala Cantonment was a developed city and for a long time nothing was done in the name of development. Sh. Vij told about his heart ailment that he fell ill and was admitted to PGI and came to meet the then Chief Minister Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Hooda enquired about his health. Responding to which Sh. Vij said that he was fine, but the people of his city were unwell. He then urged Hooda Sahib to build a hospital there. Sh Vij while narrating the conversation said that Sh. Hooda said that he will surely built the hospital but on the condition that he (Sh. Vij) should stop speaking against him (Sh. Hooda) in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha or outside. Responding to it, Sh. Vij told him it was his (Sh. Hooda’s) religion to work and it was my (Sh Vij’s) religion of to highlight the shortcomings and he (Sh. Vij) does not leave his religion. Hence it was destined. The party made me the Health Minister. There was not even facility of X-Ray here and now there are facilities like MRI, CT Scan, cath lab and dialysis. Earlier, OPD was 152 here which has now increased to 2500.

Haryana is the only state where corona testing lab in every district- Vij

He said that the Health Department has done the work of opening dialysis Centres in every district and MRI in 5 districts, cath labs have been opened in 4 districts and tenders are being floated to open these labs in rest of the districts. He said that we want to set up ICU and CCU in every Civil Hospital. He said that Haryana is the only state where every district has a Corona Testing Lab. Today, Haryana is self-sufficient in terms of oxygen and during Covid we did the work of providing free tests, free treatment and free vaccines.

Haryana will be mapped for expansion of health services- Vij

Sh. Vij said that mapping of all Haryana will be done regarding health facilities so as to gauge how many PSCs, CSCs, hospitals, ICUs, CCUs and machines are needed in which area. Accordingly services will be provided and it will be the only state where such mapping has been conducted. He said that the opening of Atal Cancer Care Centre would benefit the people of neighbouring states as state-of-the-art machines have been installed here, including linear accelerators, which cost Rs 18 crore.Praising the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Sh. Vij said that this Centre has been established with the cooperation of the Chief Minister and will continue to get the cooperation of the Chief Minister in the times to come.

Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora proposed vote of thanks

While giving the vote of thanks Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora said that it may be mentioned that this ‘Tertiary Care Cancer Centre’ (TCCC) is the first of its kind among the secondary-level institutions. Other facilities available here are Radiotherapist, Medical Physicist, RTT etc. In this various specialized posts (Surgical, Medical and Radiation Oncologist, Radiation Physicist cum RSO, Radiation Therapy Technologist) and other HR have been created. OPD, IPD, palliative care services will be provided to cancer patients in this 'Atal Cancer Care Centre’. Mammography Unit has also been started. 

The special thing is that the latest equipments like Linear Accelerator, Brachytherapy Unit, CT Simulator etc. have been installed in this Centre which are not available even in PGIMS Rohtak. ICMR has also approved a 'Hospital Based Cancer Registry' for TCCC, Ambala Cantt, which will provide information on specific locations and types of cancers that occur frequently.On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Rajeev Arora, Ambala Divisional Commissioner Renu S Phulia, Ambala Deputy Commissioner Sh Vikram, Director General of Police Sh PK Agarwal, Director General Health Services Dr Veena Singh and other senior officers were present.
