Deputy Commissioner Launches First Coding Boot Camp Project To Boost Women Capacity Building In District Sangrur

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jitendra Jorwal today launched 'Mera Maan' Coding Boot Camp Project at Sangrur, which is the first of its kind project in Punjab and it will also set a precedent in promoting 'Women Empowerment' on a large scale in the district and will help in developing women's capacity building in the near future. Disclosing this here today after inaugurating the project at District Administrative Complex, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jatinder Jorwal said that this project has been started in collaboration with Mr. Samar Singla, CEO of ClickLabs, a world class company. Samar traces his roots to Sangrur and despite living abroad, he wanted to do something unique for his district.  

He said that the girls from the financially weak families in the district would be imparted basic training in computer coding in a six month course and the company would also provide a stipend of Rs.5000 to these girls and after acquiring coding skills within 3to4 months, they will be paid a monthly salary of Rs. 15,000 to Rs 20000. The Deputy Commissioner said that in the first phase, two batches have been started comprising of 10 girls. He said that after satisfactory results, next batch would be of 40 to 60 apprentices and then fruitful steps would be taken in collaboration with this company to provide golden opportunities of self employment to the skilled girls in each tehsil. 

He said that the girls who do not have laptops or computers, arrangements have been made to provide this facility to them at the DBEE and after being selected for the job laptops or computers would be provided by the company. On the Occasion Thanking the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jitendra Jorwal , the CEO of the company Mr. Samar Singla said that the youth have a strong desire to move abroad but even here a good position can be achieved with hard work and skill.  

He said that in collaboration with the district administration, ClickLabs would strive to provide excellent employment opportunities here and under the leadership of Mr. Jorwal, they would provide the best employment opportunities to the girls in the urban and rural areas of the district. Mr. Jorwal said that 'Mera Maan Project' would prove to be an important endeavor of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann in promoting employment in the state and providing better employment opportunities to the youth going abroad in his own state.

Some of the girls shared their views on the occasion and lauded the initiative of Punjab government and district administration. They said that they would definitely get a good position in the company due to their hard work and determination. On the Occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Varjit Walia, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Latif Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Devdarshdeep Singh, District Employment Officer Ravinderpal Singh, DDF Simran and Anjali Singh, CEO Samar's father and others were also present.
