A clash between members of two communities erupted on Monday after a disagreement over hoisting, led four policemen injured in stone pelting turning the atmospheric ease into intense heat led to the internet supply cut in district to avoid rumour spreading. Incident took place over an issue of flag furling on a freedom fighter’s statue in Jodhpur’s Jalori Gate area.Stone-throwing and more violence was reported from five areas, while the police used force to bring the situation under control. Chief Minister Gehlot’s Appeal: “The tension resulting from a clash between two groups in Jodhpur’s Jalori gate is unfortunate. I have instructed the administration to maintain peace and order at any cost. Respecting the tradition of love and brotherhood in Jodhpur, Marwar, I appeal to all sides to help in maintaining peace and law and order,” Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted on Tuesday morning. Situation Under Control: Commissioner Strict action would be taken as assured by the Jodhpur Police Commissioner and said that the situation is under control.Earlier Policemen fired tear-gas shells and used sticks to disperse the crowd, which also attacked the local police post.A three-day Parshuram Jayanti festival is also underway in Jodhpur, and religious flags put up by both communities led to a major argument that spiralled into clashes.
