Punjab Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, on Thursday, said that fulfilling another promise, Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government has disbursed Rs.179 crore to students under Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students Scheme and the amount has already been transferred to bank accounts of the beneficiaries under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme. Notably, the cabinet minister on the day of taking charge of her office, directed the higher officials to clear pendency of scholarships up till March 2022 by all means.

"Now the amount of Rs.179.54 crore has been transferred direct to the bank accounts of the 1,90197 beneficiary students, said Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur terming the decision as advantageous for the bright future of the students.Divulging further, Dr. Baljit Kaur said, eligible students will get their dues on time in future also so that they could not face any hardship. The Minister said that the Punjab Government is committed towards the well being of every section of the society.To revitalizing the core sector of eduction and health in the state of Punjab, said the Cabinet Minister adding, Delhi education model would be replicated in Punjab and MoUs has already been signed to revolutionise the entire education system of the state. She said that we will introduce ultra-modern techniques to impart education to our students.
