Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh said that there should be a government level coaching centre at the district level to prepare the youth for the high-level competitive examinations at free or discounted rates.while presiding over the meeting of the Governing Council of the District Employment and Trade Bureau here today, He directed the officials of the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises to look into the possibility.  He said that he thought that if the child has prepared for higher levels (IAS, PCS and others) then he will be able to pass the lower level competitive exams easily.  He said that the district administration would try its best to make the dream of this coaching centre a reality as soon as possible in collaboration with the concerned departments and other stakeholders.

He said that emphasis should be laid on technological development and the self-employment of the youth.  He also appealed to the youth to move towards self-employment by becoming technically competent instead of running after government jobs.  He assured that the district administration would extend full support to the youth who are moving towards technological development and self-employment.  He said that instead of seeking employment, the youth should start their ventures and occupations and become employers. He emotionally told the officials that today we need to help the youth to save our country, Punjab and culture.

To change a country, one must first change one's life.  He said that the youngsters who go to work abroad after studying here would contribute to the development of that country which would weaken our country.  He asked the District Education Officer, representatives of Polytechnics and Industrial Training Institutions to liaise with the various institutes to bring more and more youth to the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises so that they would be aware of the facilities and guidelines available here.During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned officers to make all possible efforts to achieve the placement, registration and other targets.  Bank officials were told to clear the cases of self-employed youth on a priority basis.
