A biopic that made the headlines a few years ago finally gets a release date. Titled Padma Shri Kaur Singh, the movie is finally being released worldwide on 8 July 2022. The film stars Prabh Grewal, Malkeet Rauni, Baninder Bunny, Seema Kaushal, Gurpreet Bhangu, Sukhi Chahal, Sukhbir Gill, and Raj Kakra in pivotal roles. Moreover, Padma Shri Kaur Singh is a true event-based film. Also, the poster has a line that reads “A story that waited 37 years to unfold”. Coming to the credits, the upcoming biopic has been written and directed by Vikram Pradhan. It has been produced in a collaborative effort by Karam Batth and Vicky Mann and it has been shot in various parts of Punjab. Padma Shri Kaur Singh is one of the most highly awaited films of the year. For those who don’t know, Singh was the only boxer in India to have entered the ring against boxing legend Muhammad Ali in an exhibition bout in 1980. Kaur Singh has a Senior National Boxing Championship Gold Medal (1979), Gold Medal at the Asian Boxing Championship (1980), and a Gold Medal at the heavyweight category Asian Games (1982) to his name.
