A total of 2954 units of blood were collected after successful completion of blood donation camps at 50 places across the 14 states organized by philanthropist and politician Sanjay Tandon led Competent Foundation to mark the Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday.With this collection, foundation surpassed its own record of collecting 1641 units collected in blood donation camps organized at 23 places across the country last year. The eight camps in Chandigarh, 13 in Punjab, six in Haryana, four each in Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, three in Chhattisgarh, two each in Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and one each in Bihar, New Delhi, Jharkhand and Maharashtra were organized.
At shimla the camp was blessed with the presence of State BJP president Suresh Kashyap, state general secretary Trilok Jamwal, Media co incharge Karan Nanda and IT incharge Shubhankar sood.Earlier the event was inaugurated by Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur through virtual mode. While welcoming them, Sanjay Tandon apprised about the efforts being made by the Competent Foundation towards strengthening the blood donation campaign. He said that 65 camps have been organized in the last 15 years and made a collection of 10,548 blood units over the years.
In their addresses, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Union Minister Smriti Irani said that the efforts being made by the Foundation at this massive level would certainly be fruitful and helps to nation a healthy dimension. They expressed hope to continue strengthening the blood donation campaign by passing this tradition from their generation to generation.The activities of blood donation camps organized in every nook and corner of the country were broadcast live on Sanjay Tandon BJP's social media platforms which were also seen by innumerable viewers including Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Union Minister Smriti Irani.On the occasion, Foundation’s Priya Tandon expressed her gratitude to colleagues, business partners, clients, medical institutions, trade unions, religious organizations, educational institutions, UTCA and other sports groups and other associations for making this great campaign a success.
