On the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the District Administration Ludhiana organised a district-level function at District Administrative Complex, here today. Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik paid floral tributes to the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar.While speaking on the occasion, Surabhi Malik said that Dr B.R. Ambedkar was an outstanding leader of our freedom struggle and a staunch crusader for the rights of the downtrodden and traditionally disadvantaged sections of our society.
"A scholar, educationist, legal luminary, social reformer and political leader, Dr Ambedkar's philosophy and life are an inspirational profile of courage and conviction," she said.She also exhorted the youth to follow the path shown by Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar and said that Indian Constitution was the result Dr Ambedkar’s hard work, dedication and vision.Prominent among those present on the occasion included SDM (West) Jagdeep Sehgal, Assistant Commissioner (General) Gurbir Singh Kohli, besides several others.
