Chief of American Citizens Services at U.S. Embassy in New Delhi Kelly Landry called on Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar to discuss the ways in which the embassy can assist the US citizens in distress. She also shared contract information of the citizens' services in the U.S. Embassy where citizens in distress were urged to contact without any hesitation. Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the delegation of U.S. Officials including Chief of American Citizens Services Kelly Landry and Special Consular Services Specialist Suresh K. Madan, has met him to discuss the ways in which distressed U.S. citizens could be assisted promptly. The DC further reiterated the administrations' resolve to assist or help such foreign citizens who are facing any sort of trouble in the district. He said that apart from contacting the U.S. Embassy directly, such a person could also contact the Jalandhar Administration and best possible help would be provided to them within a short span of time.
The DC further mentioned that the district administration was duty bound to protect the rights of foreign citizens who are staying in Jalandhar and no stone would be left unturned in ensuring their safety and security by the administration. He also assured the embassy officials of fulsome support to protect its citizens on a priority basis if any matter in this regard comes to his knowledge. Meanwhile, the detailed deliberations were held between the officials of both sides to further formulate the elaborate mechanism to reach out such distressed U.S. citizens and assist them in the best possible way. The DC said that the district administration would be working as a bridge between the U.S. embassy and its citizens in need.
