DDC launches Project SAMPAN in district Kishtwar

District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today launched the project "SAMPAN" here from his office chamber, DC office Kishtwar.The Project "SAMPAN" was conceived during the visit of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Raghav Langer to the district which envisaged formulating a plan for convergence of the schemes of different departments and devising a mechanism to ensure that the benefits were reaped by general masses.Among others present on the occasion were Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Sham Lal; ACR Kishtwar Akther Hussain Qazi; SDM Marwah Dr Mohsin Raza; CHO Mushtaq Ahmed Wani; CAO S K Bhagat; CAHO Sanjay Sen, DYSSO, Kharati Lal Sharma;Xen PWD, Marwah, Mohammad Aslam Lone, besides other concerned officers.

 Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Kishtwar asked the concerned officers/Departments to work in tandem so that the beneficiaries are saturated with all the schemes of agriculture and allied sectors at their door steps in a convergence mode and tangible results are achieved on the ground.The ADDC informed that  the project aims to converge all the Activities/Schemes of Agriculture, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture and Fisheries Departments through technological and scientific interventions of these departments alongwith people's participation especially PRI's, Youth Clubs as well as Women SHGs formed by NRLM through awareness campaigns, Capacity Building, skill development, soft interventions and hard interventions. The project also aims at seeking training support from RSETI and NABARD.

Furthermore, he added that the  SAMPAN project also envisages the idea of increasing farmers’ income, boosting production of products taken up under "One Block One Product" initiative and upgrade the living standard of people especially those affected due to Hydro Electric Projects & those engaged in cultivation of products promoted under OBOP.The ADDC further informed the concerned District officers that the project SAMPAN will be taken in district Kishtwar in Phased manner with the aim to reach at optimum level of social welfare through penetration of government sponsored schemes across the length and breadth of District. The project will be launched on pilot basis in project affected areas then carried out in other domains.
