To ensure vaccination of all eligible students in the 15-18 age group, district administration Jalandhar today directed all the private educational institutions to submit undertakings regarding vaccination status of their students.Presiding over a meeting with the representatives of as many as 98 private schools here at the district administrative complex, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Aashika Jain, and Assistant Commissioner (UT) Ojasvi Alankar said that no eligible student should be left without vaccination and it was the duty of the school concerned to assist students in vaccination task. They also asked schools to make phone calls to students who are yet to be inoculated so that one hundred percent vaccination of adolescents could be achieved in the district.
The ADC and Assistant Commissioner further said that the schools must submit undertakings about the vaccination status of their students so that it could be updated in the database as a large number of eligible children have been inoculated lately. They also said that schools, who have not submitted the undertaking of vaccination status of their students, must furnish the required documents at the earliest. The database of remaining students to be prepared and phone calls to be made to their parents with respect to vaccination facilities so that they could avail the benefit of mobile vaccination camps being organized by the district administration.The school representatives assured the administration that they would speed up vaccination of remaining eligible students and submit the certificate to the authorities within a few days.They also said that the senior officers including DFSC, District Program Officer, and Executive Engineer Water Supply Department have been deployed as nodal officers to monitor the vaccination status of schools.
