The MLA of Mohali constituency Sidhu was the Health Minister but residents still have to either depend on private hospitals or Chandigarh hospitals for treatment. No heed had been given to the hospitals in the last five years . Residents of Mohali are feeling cheated for casting their votes to Congress .This was stated by BJP candidate from Mohali constituency Sanjeev Vashisht during his election meetings in Phase-I and Phase-IV. Sanjeev Vashisht also campaigned door to door in phases 1 and 4. Vashisht said that residents of Mohali are reluctant to go to the Civil Hospital Mohali for their treatment as in case of any emergency the patient is referred to Chandigarh which is only due to lack of facilities in the Civil Hospital.
He stressed that former health minister Balbir Sidhu had not taken his responsibility seriously to improve the health condition of the constituency during his tenure. Instead, He was busy in his business ventures and in occupying the village lands. Instead of helping the people during the corona pandemic and no attention was paid to the pleas of the residents .people were dying without treatment.Sanjeev Vashisht promised that BJP government develop Mohali as a medical hub . Largest hospital of the state would be opened in Mohali constituency where every ailment would be treated and all kinds of tests would be done free of cost. At the same time Central Jan Aushdhi Yojana will be implemented at the grossroot level, to provide medicines free of cost. The existing hospitals and dispensaries in Mohali would be upgraded in the same manner as the private hospitals and modern machinery would be provided.
Vashisht said that dispensaries in the villages would also be updated by adding major urban hospitals for each treatment. Laboratories will be set up in those dispensaries for all kinds of tests. Vashisht ensured 24 hours availability of medical staff in hospitals ,so that no citizen has to depend on Chandigarh hospitals for his treatment. Sanjeev Vashisht also stressed on the improvement of the ambulance service in the constituency and assured it to reach the destination within 15 minutes.Later, Sanjeev Vashisht while addressing the industrial workers in Industrial Area Phase VIII said that BJP government would revive the ESI hospital for industrial workers to enable them to be treated in case of any accident after coming in power . He promised to provide five lakh medical facility to every industrial worker. Sanjeev Vashisht told the present halqa residents that employment, education and health are the main agendas of his election campaign which he would address after the formation of the government.
