To discuss the progress of Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping in Village Area under the SVAMITVA scheme and other issues related to Revenue record, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib today chaired a meeting of officers and field functionaries of Revenue department, here at Conference Hall DC Office Complex.At the outset, Incharge Tehsildar Udhampur, Amit Manhas, gave a detailed powerpoint presentation on SVAMITVA and digitization of land records. ACR Udhampur, Viqar Ahmed Giri also delivered a presentation on land revenue laws and rules.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner issued directions to Revenue officers and Patwaries to maintain proper land record registers and keep them ready for surprise inspection by the teams constituted for the purpose.The DC directed Patwaries to remain present in their Patwar halqas on the Monday and Thursday for smooth delivery of public services. She also stressed on retrieving encroached state land for using the same for construction of projects of public importance or bio Fenced.The DC also threw light on SVAMITVA and stressed that is it a time bound  assignment for which the ground work needs to be done carefully and cautiously in order to achieve the objective within the stipulated time frame.All Naib Tehsildars, GQs, Patwaries of tehsil Udhampur were present in the meeting.
