Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has accused the Congress of fraud in preparation of voters list in Ludhiana. On Tuesday, Punjab in-charge Jarnail Singh held a press conference accusing Congress government minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu of adding more than 24000 fake voters in Ludhiana West assembly constituency and said that the Congress party is unable to digest the change of mood of the people of Punjab. Due to the fear of defeat, Congress leaders are trying to win elections with the help of fake votes and now they are misusing the government machinery for the listing of bogus voters. Along with Jarnail Singh, party spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang and AAP candidate from Ludhiana West Gurpreet Singh Gogi were also present. The AAP leader demanded the Election Commission to take an action on the issue of irregularities and fake voters in Ludhiana West and other assembly constituencies at the earliest. He said that it is very important to have fair elections and to strengthen democracy.
He said that our candidate from Ludhiana West, Gurupreet Gogi, had filed a complaint to the Election Commission about the list of fake voters. Taking cognizance of the matter, the Election Commission had removed some of the fake names from its records, but still there are more than 24 thousand bogus voters in Ludhiana West assembly alone.Jarnail Singh blamed Congress minister and MLA from Ludhiana West Bharat Bhushan Ashu for the irregularities in voters’ list. He said that Minister Ashu has misused his position and put pressure on the government machinery to enlist these fake votes. The AAP leader said that Minister Ashu is aware of his defeat in upcoming elections, so he is pulling such tactics to win the elections.Jarnail Singh said that even with all their nefarious efforts, the Congress leaders still won’t succeed in misleading the people of Punjab. He appealed to the people to be aware of corrupt political parties and their leaders. He said that the people of Punjab have had enough of the corrupt policies of traditional parties. That's why people will press the ‘Jharoo’ button on February 20 to make the Aam Aadmi Party win with a huge majority and form AAP government.
