In order to bid farewell to the Director General of Police, Ashok Prasad, Jammu and Kashmir Police today organized an impressive farewell parade at Armed Police Complex Zewan. Mr. Prasad has been repatriated to Intelligence Bureau (IB), Government of India and replaced by Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar as State Police Chief.According to an official statement issued, addressing the officers and jawans on the occasion, Mr. Prasad deliberated upon his experiences as State Police Chief. He said that he has been proud to lead Jammu and Kashmir Police, which by the dint of its valour and courage has faced various challenges with fortitude and has earned a good name among the police forces of the country. “It is our prime responsibility to take the sacrifices of our martyrs to the conclusion by maintaining complete and lasting peace in the State”, Prasad said.
He said the Organization has always to take care of the families of martyrs by providing succour and guidance at every stage. “It is due to the sacrifices of the jawans and officers of JKP that a congenial atmosphere has been prevailed in the State, he said adding that a large number of tourists are visiting the valley, providing a helping hand in the economy of the State, said the DGP.Mr. Prasad thanked all ranks of JKP for their whole hearted support to ensure peace and order in the State. He said that during his tenure, despite some emerging situations, the force under his leadership succeeded in dealing various challenges.
