The Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Ashok Prasad visited Kishtwar and Ramban districts in Jammu pision and reviewed security scenario in these districts. He was accompanied by Additional Director General of Police (Security), Mr. V. K. Singh and Inspector General of Police (Jammu Zone), Mr. Rajesh Kumar. During the visit, Mr. Prasad convened separate meetings with senior police officers of the respective districts and sought reports about the security scenario in these areas. The concerned officers informed the meeting about the prevailing situation and efforts made by them to keep law and order. They also informed about the deployment made in these areas for surveillance of criminals and anti-national elements to check their activities. Addressing the meetings, Mr. Prasad stressed upon the officers to ensure regular coordination at each level and ensure law and order in the districts is maintained. 

He expressed his hope that the forces working in the region will keep their morale high and tackle any situation in a professional manner.  The DGP reiterated that to achieve good results, co-ordination among all agencies involved in maintaining law and order is imperative.  Urging for better policing, he said that police has to remain vigilant at all times on the activities of anti-social elements, who are bent upon to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the state. The meeting at Ramban also reviewed the over all security arrangements made for ensuing Amar Nath Ji Yatra and inaugural ceremony of Qazigund - Banihal train service. The meeting was informed that all required arrangements have been made for deployment of man power along the yatra route for the security of pilgrims. The DGP asked for augmenting the security of vital installations and extensive patrolling especially during night hours.     

The IGP (Jammu Zone), Mr. Rajesh Kumar   gave a detailed briefing about the security situation in twin districts and the arrangements made for smooth conduct of yatra and inaugural ceremony. Among others, the meetings were attended by DIG, Doda Range, Mr. Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, SP Kishtwar, Mr. civil Sunil Gupta, SP Ramban, Mr. Javed Iqbal Mattoo and other police and officers.
