The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani today kick-started plantation drive by planting different species of saplings including Conifer within the premises of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Sedow, here.Speaking on the occasion, the ADC said that the District Administration has a target to plant one 1.5 lakh different plant saplings in various institutions, Kahcharai and State land in the district. He said the campaign has been started by planting saplings of Conifer within the premises of GHSS, Sedow to give a message for institutional plantation across the district.He said that all District and Sectoral officers have been directed to ensure plantation in their respective office premises.
It was further informed that the Forest department has a big target of planting different species of saplings in various Government institutions of the district.The ADC asked the concerned officers to work in coordination to make the plantation drive a great success.The Massive plantation drive was organised by the Rural Development Department in coordination with Forest Department Shopian.Divisional Forest Officer, Shopian, Principal Government Higher Secondary School Shopian, Block Development Officer, Shopian and other concerned were present.
