Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today on Wednesday presided over a weekly block Diwas programme here at Government Higher Secondary School Bhatta, Palmar and listened to the people’s issues.The programme was attended by BDC chairperson Block Palmar Lalita Devi, DDC member Tahir Masood; ACD Kishtwar Kishore Singh Katoch, PRIs, locals besides other district officers and officials of line departments.Several individual and PRI members projected demands and problems being faced by them. They demanded up-gradation of Health Institutions, education Infrastructure, road connectivity and water and power facilities in the area.The BDC Chairperson called for early disposal of the grievances projected by the PRIs and individuals.The DC asked the Officers to come up with the solution of the issues pertaining to their departments and give time lines/ line of action to redress the same. He assured people that their genuine demands will be redressed on priority.

The Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar upon the youth to avail opportunities offered under the umbrella of Mission Youth and other avenues provided for self employment in agriculture, horticulture and allied sectors. He said the government has taken a series of steps to engage youth to capacitate them for making them not just self-reliant but also job providers for many others.He also appealed people to benefit from the digital initiatives taken by govt like was "Apki Zameen Apki Nigrani" besides the online services provided by revenue department to monitor their land records.He also appealed to people to follow Covid Appropriate Behavior and take vaccine at the nearest vaccination center to stay safe.Meanwhile, Officers of Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry briefed the people about their respective schemes and programmes launched with the aim to double the farmers’ income.Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner, in presence of local PRIs, school staff and family members of martyrs participated in the renaming ceremony of the 3 Government schools after the names of martyrs from Palmar area viz a viz Shaheed Naib Subedar, Shaheed Mehraj-ud-Din Butt Memorial Govt Hr Sec School Palmar,Shaheed Constable Nisar Ahmed Memorial GMS Bhata Palmar, Shaheed Constable  Madan Lal memorial MS Horna Palmar.The family members of the martyrs thanked the Administration for recognising the sacrifice of the sons of the soil.
