As part of ongoing 'Good Governance Week' being observed under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar today presided over the Block Diwas function at Wagoora.The programme marked the participation of different stakeholders including PRIs, civil society members, among other prominent citizens from Wagoora and its adjoining areas.During the programme, the DC listened several public grievances and demands which were highlighted by the concerned stakeholders. They urged upon the administration to provide uninterrupted essential services during the ongoing winter season to the people besides expressing gratitude to the district administration for conducting the reach out programme in the area.The DC gave a patient hearing of all the demands and assured that all issues shall be taken with the concerned authorities for their timely redressel.
Underlining the objectives of "Good Governance Week", the DC said that the event provides us an opportunity to march rapidly to create a transparent and efficient Public Delivery System and to ensure prompt and efficient public grievances disposal.Meanwhile, the DC accompanied by Joint Director Planning M. Yousuf Rather and other concerned functionaries took inspection of several ongoing developmental works taken in different sectors. The inspection was aimed to get the first hand appraisal of their pace and position during which the DC emphasized to ensure completion of all the works well within the fixed timeframe.The DC also inspected Sub District Hospital Kreeri where he took a review of health and Medicare facilities being provided to the patients. He interacted with some patients to enquire about the same wherein he stressed to provide efficient and qualitative health services in view of ongoing winter season.Later, the DC presided over the demonstration cum mock drill being organised by fire and emergency department during which they showcased different fire safety measures that can be taken during exigencies.
