Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam and SSP, PD Nitya today inaugurated Hamdard Ramban T-20 Cricket Premiere League tournament, here at District Police Lines grounds Ramban.In the tournament, organized by a local NGO, Team Hamdard is known for Blood donation and other social works. As many as 64 cricket teams from across Ramban district are participating in the tourney with due compliance of the Covid Appropriate Behaviour.The tournament is being sponsored by the district administration Ramban, District Police (JKP), Army and many other private business firms. The tournament is being organized in the newly levelled and grassed ground of the District Police Lines.Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mussarat Islam said that this tournament being organized after about 1 year of dormancy of sports activities in the district due to the prevailing Covid pandemic is expected to give a fresh fillip to the sports activities in the district besides giving the youth a chance to hone and expose their sports talent and a reason to abstain from drugs and other anti-social activities.He also informed that the Detailed Project Report of an Indoor Stadium at Phelti - Ramban has been sent to the Sports Council, J&K and with its construction the indoor games would get a good boost in the district and give the sportsmen a place to skill themselves in various indoor games.
