As part of AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV –NCC VIJAY SHRANKHALA Programme, a felicitation ceremony was organized at Kundan Vidya Mandir, here today, under the aegis of NCC GpHQ Ludhiana (NCC Dte PHHP & Chd)  by 3 PB Girls Battalion NCC Ludhiana to honour the next of kin of bravehearts who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1971 Indo-Pak War.This programme was attended by commanding officers and officers of different units of NCC Gp HQ Ludhiana, NCC Officers, PI Staff and 200 cadets of different school & colleges of Ludhiana distt. The next of kin of our soldiers who laid down their lives fighting for the safety and security of our motherland including Mr. Suresh Kumar Pathak, brother of EAP-3 SK Pathak and Mr. Talwinder Singh, Nephew of LWTR Harnek  Singh were felicitated during the function.

The programme started with the lighting of the lamp and paying of floral tribute to the bravehearts followed by patriotic song, skit and dance by NCC cadets which touched the heart and soul of all present. On behalf of Brig Jasjit Ghumman, Group Commander NCC Group HQ Ludhiana, Col Aman Yadav Commanding Officer 3 Punjab Girls Ludhiana and Maj Sonia Soni Adm Officer 3 Punjab Girls Ludhiana presented a shawl, conveying the gratitude of the Nation to the next of kin of our bravehearts. The programme culminated with the singing of The National Anthem. After the Programme, high tea was organized of all the guests and cadets.In his address where in on one hand Col Aman Yadav acknowledged the sacrifice of our valiant soldiers and their near and dear ones, he also urged the cadets to remain vigilant and leave no stone unturned to ensure the safety and security of our motherland. He said that sacrifice for securing the frontiers of the country was the greatest of all sacrifices.
